We provided us with some bagels for breakfast at a cafe in Inverness. At the table next to the sheriffs drank coffee, it felt very much like Twin Peaks. Then we drove Sir Francis Drake Boulevard out to Point Reyes. The landscape is green with rolling hills and isolated farmsteads. Cows graze in the open landscape, side by side with some kind of deer that look like reindeer but called Thule Elk. More water gets hills to cliffs that plunge straight into the sea.
Far out on the Point Reyes is an old lighthouse. Here we spied by gray whales. Right now it is high season to see these powerful 15-meter and 40-ton animal. They have been breeding small valbarn in Mexico's warm waters ballon bouquet over the winter and is now heading north to Alaska to eat food. They swim about 2,000 mil a year. Very talented, beautiful and strange animals.
Mom Bim was the first of us to make a choice. Suddenly you see as a water cloud blowing up over the surface. Then a huge black body wallowing in the water. And if you're lucky frolicking up a tail. We saw several small groups whales swim past the lighthouse. They swam often in pairs. It was 320 steps down to the lighthouse. And up.
On the way back to SF, we stopped in Muir Woods and walked among the redwoods. They are like forest whales. ballon bouquet 70 to 80 feet high and 1,000 years old. Real giants. And almost immortal. If they burn down, they can grow back from their roots. It's very handy!
