San Anselmo resident Magan Arthur co-founded Lolo Cards Inc. to try to bring the big-box store gift card concept to a local level. Arthur discussed Lolo s basics at a small community san anselmo recreation meeting Aug. 2 at the San Anselmo Coffee Roastery.
Community members can buy cards for a variety of amounts, such as $50 or $100, and use the cards at a variety of participating local merchants. They can also purchase cards where a specific amount goes to a community program they would like to support, such as donating $10 to help the San Anselmo Chamber realize plans for a downtown park on property George Lucas donated to chamber.
The Lolo cards had a soft launch this week, Arthur said, and the full program roll out will begin in October, with an informational session slated for Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m., at Gelato, 752 San Anselmo Ave.
Participating businesses will include: Various & Sundries Fairfax Coffee Roastery Hairfax Studio Cafe Lotus San Anselmo Coffee Roastery Dogville Gelato Marinitas Ross Valley Veterinary Hospital Marin Coffee Roasters Golden Gate Tutoring Center Kidzfaces (based in Fairfax) Krakatoa Bikes The Gypsy Spa
Organizers hope Lolo to become a national program san anselmo recreation with hundreds of cards for specific communities. Lolo officials are first launching the shop locally program in the Ross Valley and a few other areas in the Bay Area, including Menlo Park and for the Solano Avenue community san anselmo recreation in Berkeley.

We are looking forward to visiting San Francisco this month. We're staying in Union Square and will meet four adult family members for dinner, on a Saturday night. From Fodorites' recommendations, I'm looking a these restaurants: Tadich Grill Catch Locanda Delfino improtheater berlin Perbacco Budget isn't tight, but we'd like main dishes for $30 or less. We also want a selection of fish and meats. Prefer 'California' style menu, not a particular improtheater berlin ethnic menu. How about some thoughts on these, or others? Thanks improtheater berlin much!
We just had dinner improtheater berlin at Perbacco. We were just ok with it. Nothing wowed us. It was good, but we found the flavors a bit on the bland side. It isn't particularly fish/seafood improtheater berlin oriented. Tadich - to us, this is quintessential San Francisco dining experience especially for fish/seafood. We eat here EVERY trip. This time it was for lunch. They have THE BEST CIOPPINO in San Francisco, maybe the planet. Their fish is excellent, improtheater berlin sand dabs are delish. Biggest issue is that they don't take reservations. We walked right in for lunch. For dinner, we get their early before six and the wait isn't too bad. We also sit at the counter, but with 4, not an good option. The waiters are brusque but it is for show. Our waiter, who has served us on many trips is really nice. Delfina is nice, but it's Italian so to me, it's more that than Californian.
I find the opposite from the previous poster. We have always enjoyed Perbacco but find Tadich overpriced for what you get. 20 or 30 years ago, I loved Tadich, but just don't care for that style of food anymore. More creative options out there.
Aloha Deb...you were in SF and didn't tell me again. improtheater berlin Aloha Michelle. Loved my and The Lovely Mrs Kal's dinners improtheater berlin (and service!) at Perbacco but really enjoyed sister resto next door Barbacco. Scoma's has a good menu for sea food and suprisingly, meat. It's been awhile since we've had the cioppino at Tadich's but Scoma's is hard to beat. Esp the "Lazy Man's" cioppino. Fog City Diner has reopened as "Fog City" and we can't wait to go back there. One of our hole in the wall faves, esp on a rainy day walking down the Embarcadero.
we also have enjoyed Perbacco many times. One of our favorites. I highly recommend it. Delfina...I doubt if you could get a reservation this late in the game. Delfina is no where near Union Square. You would need a car to get to it in the Mission if you can get in. Tadich is good but very OLD to me.
Thanks for your comments! I actually was able to snag an 8:00 on Sat night in 2 weeks, for 6 people-- at Delfina. So, I was lucky? They don't book parties for more than 6. (We can cab if needed.) I might nix Tadish if it is too 'old school'. I don't mind a vintage vibe, unless they serve a tired menu. It sounds improtheater berlin great for lunch, though. Will look into Perbacco and Barbacco menus again. Is Stu around? (Deb, did you post a recipe for healthy broccoli soup w/cheese? I made it and liked it a lot.)
You have to understand...I live in New Mexico. Fresh seafood and fish is VERY hard to come by, so that is paramount to us. I have had Scoma's lazy man cropping and it doesn't compare in our book. If you are local and can eat at a place whenever, it is much different than someone who visits, even if they are fairly regular visitors. I respect everyone's own take, and in the end it is our own personal improtheater berlin take that matters. . Tadich has been around improtheater berlin for 160 years, that must be doing something r

An interesting historical footnote: San Anselmo, in the early 1900s, was considered a silent film capital, producing such films as The Two-Gun Man and Cowpunchers Law . Fast forward to the 1970s, and, once again, San Anselmo served as a creative nesting place for then rising writer/director, George Lucas. Lucas is a 40-year resident of the town, and it was there that he created his most memorable characters Yoda (1973) and Indiana Jones (1974). A must-see stop is the small, grassy patch of land right next to City Hall — Imagination Park which was donated to the town in June of 2013 by George Lucas himself. The focal point of the park is a circular natural stone fountain watched over by impressive bronze statues of Indiana Jones and Yoda. Both iconic characters were created, as Lucas says in the youtube video of the park’s grand opening ceremony, just down the street from the park, and the Indiana Jones statue is the only one of its kind in existence.
Shopping s the name of the game on San Anselmo Avenue, ormimaq bh and Lou and I made a beeline to The Great Acorn Co . (800 San Anselmo Ave.). The place has been there, we discovered, for 37 years a true retail success story. It s a mecca of unique jewelry, cards, clothing, decorative ormimaq bh items, books and, as their business ormimaq bh card declares, a bunch of fun stuff . We probably spent 45 minutes browsing through all their wonderful merchandise. Of course, once again, we saw items we couldn t live without for Lou it was a pair of cushy gloves, and she spied a roomy saddle-bag purse that she resisted buying, but it will likely ormimaq bh haunt her til she has to go back and get it. For me, it was a Pig Popper toy (one among many fun stuff items) that shoots soft foam rubber balls 20 feet in the air, plus a couple of mini-journals and an adorable stuffed mouse Xmas tree ornament. And, I too may have to go back later to grab a pair of irresistible brass earrings now haunting me. Tip: allow plenty of time to mosey through because you ll be held as a willing captive in shopper s La La Land as soon as you enter. ormimaq bh Apparently, others are as enthused as we are about this store, as it gets consistent 5-star reviews on Yelp!
On a somber note, we noticed situated outside the Ross Valley fire station (777 San Anselmo ormimaq bh Ave.) a stone monument that s dedicated to the memory of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. On top of the memorial rests an actual piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center. ormimaq bh It s a solemn reminder of the great sacrifice those firefighters made for all of us on that day that changed the course of our history.
The Flour Craft Bakery ormimaq bh (702 San Anselmo Ave.) was beckoning ormimaq bh us, so we had to check it out for a mid-morning snack. The store s owner, Heather Hardcastle, is a graduate of St. Helena s Culinary Institute of America. In the year 2000, Heather discovered she was gluten intolerant, and then proceeded to learn how to make her favorite foods sans gluten and the seeds of her current business were planted. Flour Craft has a catchy slogan Gluten Freedom and it s the first 100% gluten-free bakery in Marin County. Upon entering, our noses were greeted by sweet, comforting aromas, and our eyes were drawn to a dazzling selection of cupcakes, brownies, cookies, breakfast pastries, and breads displayed in the pastry cases. And, you can partially see into the bakery ormimaq bh s kitchen, which looks to be well-organized, clean and polished. Lou picked out a sugar cinnamon brioche, and I chose a chocolate walnut cookie (okay, I bought 2!), and we sat outside on a sunny bench munching our treats. We can tell this place is certainly a primo choice for gluten sensitive folks.
Lou and I noticed a couple of colorful oil paintings displayed on sidewalk easels, and we couldn t resist entering the postage-stamp sized gallery of local artist Michael Feldman , at 630 San Anselmo Avenue. The down-to-earth artist introduced himself and charmed us with the story of how he came to cast aside his longtime San Francisco marketing career and dedicate himself fully to his art. While most people his age would be content to simply retire, Michael s obvious ormimaq bh passion to express himself as an artist ormimaq bh is to be truly admired. We both fell in love with his beautiful works vibrant cityscapes, local buildings, colorful flowers, and portraits — and we were wowed by the reasonable prices he asked for his original artwork. He even showed us a folio of some simple but skillfully done watercolors he’d created while attending a local art class, ones he said had taken him just a flash to produce. His website has an impressive gallery of his work, but we suggest stopping in to his San Anselmo studio in person, to see his creations up close and in their full glory.
Insalata s (120 Sir Frances Drake Blvd.) was our restaurant of choice for lunch. You can t miss this large mustard colored building in the heart of San Anselmo. They ve been ar

Each class has a method that will be discussed further below. There are two constructors dídac lee marinitas dídac lee san anselmo in this class for a data pack or MIDI sound a Clip object. Methods on the class object Clip Player uses this to generate audio playback. Constructor method in this class is as follows: Two constructors marinitas san anselmo above have variable parameters are nearly the same, differing only in variable resource with a String data type and byte. Here is a description of these parameters. Value of the lowest priority variable is -2147483648 up to the highest of 2147483647. The higher the value, the higher the priority. But it is recommended dídac lee to use a small positive number for reason maintenance program. dídac lee This priority value is used to determine which files will be run if there is a demand for new Clip Clip when still in the process of running another file, or other similar cases. Usable marinitas san anselmo dídac lee frequency range is 20Hz to 20KHz. To run a single marinitas san anselmo tone (single frequency), use the same value in both the frequency array. Used to pause a zero value at the frequency pair. The Player class provides those methods to control the course of playback of audio media packaged dídac lee in a Clip object or DualTone. Those methods that exist in this class are as follows: This method marinitas san anselmo is used to add PlayerListener Player. If the player already has PlayerListener it will be overwritten. This method will make the player have a Listener function, when there are changed marinitas san anselmo circumstances Player will then call the method playerUpdate Listener () on the interface PlayerListener. Running Clip on clip variable parameter, run as a background, in this method are ignored by the contents of the variable priority because it is advisable to turn off playBackGround advance if there is, then the method call Play (). Welcome to this week’s improtheater edition, hope you are keeping cool during this intense heat we are having during the first days of fall. Make the most of it while it lasts, at lots of seasonal fairs going on around Marin and Southern Sonoma. Support our local farmers and their delicious produce as you enjoy a play date, and get into a Latin mood at a great restaurant in San Anselmo.
‘ Andy’s Local Market’, 688 Point San Pedro Road, San Rafael from 11.00 am – 4 pm free, & evening concert improtheater 7.00 – 11.00 pm, general admission $50. www.andyssummerfest.com
A family style carnival at the Loch Lomond Marina which is helping to support San Rafael City Schools. It features a petting zoo, pony rides, art, games, bouncy houses, Triumph skateboard demonstrations and kid’s stage with school music groups. BBQ by Sol Food and Lagunitas beer garden.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Diversity and everyone is invited to ethnic forms of dress. There will be games, arts and crafts improtheater for children and the popular local band ‘The Hamiltones’ will perform alongside a children’s ethnic dance group. Food and drink provided by a variety of local vendors such as Café Joel, Hamilton Café, Sonoma Latina Grill and Homeward Bound.
The fair is a celebration of harvest featuring a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, zipper, super slide, tea cup ride, free wagon rides, early engine display, improtheater hay maze and other barnyard games. Wine tasting with 150+ wineries, improtheater chef demonstrations, microbrew tasting on the Saturday only and continuous live jazz and art show.
Event featuring a princess beauty makeover salon, professional princess photographs, bouncy house, games and activities, edible treats and performances by Miss Kitty, Tutu School students, Baby Bird music and Performing  Arts Academy of Marin Broadway Ensemble.
The Farmer’s Market at the Civic Center in San Rafael, on Thursdays mornings (8.00 am – 1.00 pm) are much more family friendly than Sundays, as it is smaller and quieter now that older kids are back to school, allowing parents to maneuver their strollers around the vendors with ease.
A good place to start is at the bouncy houses and puppet show where toddlers sit attentively enjoying the music and their favorite characters from Sesame Street. Once the show is over move through the market where there are plenty of fresh fruit for the kids to sample as you grab your waffle or pastry from the bakery and much needed cup of coffee improtheater at the new ‘Maddie’s Mud’ (Marinwood’s new neighborhood vendor providing good coffee improtheater and conversation). Our other favorite vendors are the ‘Home Made Ravioli & Olive Co’ that offers pesto, dips, olives and wonderful improtheater fresh pasta; the Ravioli is delicious especially the butternut squash which is a winner with the kids. Look out for fresh muffins such coconut & banana or orange & zucchini, also the naughty but nice ‘Teeny Cake’ that offers mini size cupcakes, a special treat for little ones.
The seating area on the opposite side of the market always has great music by local musicians playing and is surrounded by great hot food venders such as Aidell’s Sausage, Pizza Politana and Brittany Crepes & Galettes. So you can sink your teeth into a hot sausage sandwich on Rosemary bread or a margarita pizza washed down with organic lemonade while enjoying the musical performance.
Marinitas is a great place for a family lunch or early evening dinner, it is also a fabulous place to enjoy Margaritas improtheater on a balmy evening with friends. The place itself has a wonderful ambiance due to its Latin style deco, tall open windows, and exotic dark wood interior.
The surroundings reflects the Mexican and Latin America inspired menu that has a modern twist, the majority of which are offered as small plates so you get to try a variety of flavors. Some examples improtheater include the Empanadas filled with linguisa sausage, potato, caramelized onions, improtheater swiss chard and Oaxaca cheese, Queso Fundido with three cheeses, chorizo, crushed potatoes and pumpkin improtheater seeds blended with smoky chile sauce, cilantro creme and nopales salad. My husband loves the Ceviche served in three different styles; Classic which is shellfish, tomato improtheater and lime, Vera Cruzano which is scallops, roasted Serrano chile, orange, cucumber, jicama and avocado sauce, and Tuna Crudo which is adobo and cucumber. The Enchiladas and tacos are great especially the Taco filled with grilled steak, avocado, grilled onion and chipole sauce. I recommend ordering side dishes of green rice and black beans which my son devoured with a Grilled chicken and avocado sandwich.

doodlebug October 20, 2012 at 08:31 PM Yeah, Heidi!! I love that Marinitas is open late and that you can get food anytime off the "bar" menu. My schedule is such that both of these things really work. Not to mention the food is spectacular at both Insalata and Marinitas. Lucky us in San Anselmo.
DMiller October 22, 2012 at 07:19 PM La Loggia, San Anselmo Ave: new! check it out! I am not affiliated in any way...just happy to have a "perfect fit" casual restaurant in my neighborhood.

You can make your reservations on-line , and you definitely want to for Friday and Saturday nights.

If you are looking for excellent Latin food that’s not your typical rice, beans and enchilada plate, you should try Marinitas in San Anselmo. If you’re looking for a great Latin bar, with top notch mixed drinks made from fresh fruit juices and cane sugar syrups, and a wide selection of Latin beers and micro-brewed Latin ales, Marinitas is also the place to go.
Although Marinitas is easy to get to, it’s also easy to pass by without noticing. At least that was my problem until a few friends who have been long-time patrons had a party catered by Marinitas. gratulatione The food was great, so I finally sought it out and gave it a try. And, having done that, this happy camper now has Marinitas on my short list for high quality casual dinners out.
You can make your reservations on-line , and you definitely want to for Friday and Saturday nights. Unless, of course, you don’t mind squeezing in at the bar and killing anywhere from 20 – 30 minutes waiting for a table. Not to worry, though. If you’re hungry, they serve the full menu at the bar. Another gratulatione very nice aspect to Marinitas is that it stays open until 11:00 on weeknights and 11:30 on Friday and Saturday, so you can have a long and leisurely evening out.

To prevent leakage, secret scenes "Avenue Brazil" continue | NTB
Everything to prevent leakage, this is the great intention of the author John Emanuel Carneiro and direction of the novel. The actors keep getting the chapters in the nick of time, at least in the core of the novel.
The author John Emanuel Carneiro hates to disclose future meanderings of its feuilleton. For now, his strategy and team has worked (and audience). No one knew, for example, that Carminha brunette or she would try to drown Nina in the bathtub.
