Nat King Cole was first introduced to music from his mother who taught him how to play the piano. At the age of 12 years, Nat and then decided to study piano professionally. In the mid-30s, which are still in their teens Nat already started performing with her sister in a few clubs around Chicago. They even had time to record some of their songs at the time. Nat who then decided to move to Los Angeles and then formed the band King Cole Swingers and began playing in several clubs there. Not long afterwards, the group broke up and then formed Nat Nat King Cole Trio. Nat who originally was a pianist, then started trying to fill vocals. No fewer than 48 albums have been produced by this jazz musician. His first album is THE KING COLE TRIO released Capitol Records in 1944. While the album is titled LOVE released in 1965 was the last album musicians who died in the same year in a fairly young age. Aside from being a musician, Nat King Col E also recorded once a supporting actor of around 22 films including CITIZEN KANE, Diller KILLER, THE BLUE GARDENIA, and CAT BALLOU. Nat also made several appearances in the television show THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW. The father of singer Natalie Cole died of lung cancer he suffered on February 15, 1965. During his life, Nat was a heavy smoker and admitted to smoking to make good her voice.

While playing in Oliver's Creole Jazz Band, Armstrong met Lillian Hardin, pianist and arranger for the band. In February 1924 they were married.
