The illustrator of last year is one of my favorites. Every time I see a picture or image of a gorilla, come to mind wonderful albums, his watercolors double page filled with symbols and details that can not but admire and again. I explained to the children some of their stories. We spent Fear tunnel, we thought about the friendship with beautiful stitching, we sang the song Me gustan los libros and we all learned to read images with Voices in the park. The fascination by Anthony gorillas, he said, comes from the fact that he saw a similarity with his father who died suddenly when Anthony was only 17 years old. The father was strong, professional boxer, but he was shy and sensitive. This is well seen in his drawings of gorillas. But gorillas are not the only animals that are prominent in nearly 40 children's books has made. It is also much appreciated series Chimpanzee Willy, a character based on his own childhood. All books of Anthony Browne show the same attention to detail, often surreal scenes that invite you to look at them and Remiro them again and again, and each time we find new details. Anthony Browne was born in Yorkshire (England) in 1946. He studied graphic design at Leeds College of Art and wanted to be a painter. To make money began working as a medical illustrator vila gora krusevo at Leeds Royal Infirmary. Explains it in these words: The job was to enter and see how they do operations illustrations for medical students. I drew the body as flesh ... Technically vila gora krusevo it was an excellent training and learned how to use watercolor of a very precise way.
Then he worked for fifteen years in an advertising agency, designing greeting cards. Finally, almost by chance, they ordered an illustrated album, and since then has not stopped.
His style is quite sophisticated, with many references to surrealism. His inspiration could be Maurice Sendak but also see similarities with Van Allsburg. It is also easy to find references to Magritte in all their albums, as well as numerous reproductions of works of renowned painter.
He was awarded the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2000. He also has been awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal and Prize Kurt Maschler. The awarding of the Medal chidren's Laureate 2009-2011, he undertook as ambassador, promoter and defender of children's literature.
The tunnel. A story that has to do with fairy tales. Remember Hansel and Gretel. It illustrations filled with details and psychologists are employed to unravel all that has symbolic narration explains that "There was once a brother and sister who does not resemble. She stayed at home, reading and dreaming. He played on the street with friends, and laughed, cried and played ball. The girl was shy, he was brave. vila gora krusevo One day they came together, he found a tunnel. He wanted to know what was on the other side. She waited, but his brother did not return. So, overcoming his fear, went to look for him ... "
Linda sewn book is ideal for students and children cycle to enter the world of gorillas Anthony Browne. It tells the story of a gorilla who lives in a laboratory, has learned to communicate by signs, and thanks to that has everything you want: food, drink, fun. However, feels lonely and decides to ask their caregivers some company. A story full of tenderness and a certain dose of humor.
Menjacabòries. This is most dear to me. I was fortunate to translate it into Catalan from the English "Silly Billy". Bernard tells concerns a boy who is always worried. Concerned about hats and shoes concerned. Worried by clouds, rain, and especially vila gora krusevo by the giant birds.
But lucky for her grandmother bought that very well and help giving her a dolls' menjacabòries ", which are the symbol of this story that opens the door to the Guatemalan culture where these dolls made with small pieces wood, fabric scraps and threads. In the evening, when going to bed, tell one worry to each and cabbage vila gora krusevo Lochia under the pillow. Thus, the children wake up
